Formed in the heart of Toronto in 2019, Byrdy took flight with a sound that refuses to be ignored. Blending melodic piano with thunderous guitars and haunting, powerhouse vocals, the band has quickly become a standout force in the GTA’s rock and metal scene.
Their momentum surged in 2022 with the release of their debut full-length album—a raw, emotional whirlwind that showcased Byrdy’s signature fusion of intensity and vulnerability. Since then, the band has continued to evolve with a series of singles and radio features on 94.9 The Rock’s Generation Next, 101.5 The Wolf FM, and 89.1 MAX FM, carving out their place in Ontario’s heavy music landscape.
In 2023, Byrdy’s rise hit new heights when they claimed Metal Artist of the Year and Metal Song of the Year at the New Music Awards by Petrock Radio for their explosive single “Seen Better Days.”
Live on stage, Byrdy delivers with a ferocity that fans don’t forget. They’ve rocked the Voodoo Rock Queens Festivaland battled their way through the performance rounds at The Tall Pines Festival, hosted by 89.1 MAX FM. This summer, they returned for Voodoo Rock Fest X – the 10th Anniversary Series, with another unforgettable set.
Now, the band is gearing up for their next major chapter with the release of their new EP, Bloom In The Darkness Pt. 1, arriving November 28th. The EP marks a powerful evolution in Byrdy’s sound—dark, soaring, and deeply emotional.
Their latest single, “Misery,” offers a glimpse into this new era: a soul-stirring anthem about alienation, self-doubt, and the weight of feeling like an outsider. It’s one of Byrdy’s most gripping tracks to date.
